VDS Rail's 19 ports Gigabit Ethernet Consist Switch is a Gigabit/Fast Ethernet managed switch EN 50155 compliant, designed for network applications in Rolling-Stock environments.

Layer2/Layer 3 managed switch

Besides providing wire-speed layer 2 forwarding capabilities, this switch also supports Layer 3 services, allowing IPv4 unicast and multicast routing among different VLANs. Layer 3 extensions include inter-VLAN routing with packet filtering together with NAT. OSPF and RIP dynamic protocols are also supported.

Besides the standard features provided by this class of devices, this Consist Switch provides advanced software facilities - TTCMP Network Toolkit - for onboard network discovery and configuration.

Wide range of models available 

The Consist Switch has four fifteen (15) 1000BASE-T ports, and four (4) 100BASE-TX ports.

Four (4) Gigabit Ethernet ports and four (4) Fast Ethernet ports can be equipped with PoE+ capability.

Reliability 

Two (2) pairs of Gigabit Ethernet ports are equipped with bypass function, making the device completely transparent to the network in case of a power outage or failure.
