Backbone Routers

A hierarchical structure with two levels of networks is needed to interconnect vehicles in close or open trains. Train Backbone Routers provide an Ethernet based gateway function as well as a proper redundancy between those network levels. In order to assure such "High Availability", Train Backbone Routers are designed with specific features like hardware by-pass and Active/Passive technology. Standard protocol is used for proper train inauguration procedures.

Integrated ETBN (FAST)

Train backbone node which provides both traffic routing and switching capabilities for a cost-effective integration with the consist network. Fully supports standard IEC train inauguration procedure, with ETBN control interface for TRDP devices.

For uncompromising bandwidth availability, double Gigabit lines allow backbone connections up to 2 Gbps in aggregate mode. Eligible as high performance backbone node for multimedia data interoperability.

Fast Ethernet Train Backbone Node

Base version of Train Backbone Node with active/passive technology to assure high availability. Two hardware by-passes allow electrical continuity in case of fault.

Train Ethernet Repeater

The Train Ethernet Repeater is a device able to regenerate the Ethernet frame data and the electrical parameters to overcome the 100 m standard imposed maximum Ethernet segment limit and can be installed between two ETBN when installation parameters require it.
